What do you want to minimize?

Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Basics:

You'll need this dialog only if you want a different behaviour for a certain program than in general. For this, you have to tell TheBest Minimize to Tray which program the exception is about.

There a several ways to configure this. Here they are sorted by the difficulty, the easiest first.

A) Running program:

1.Choose the desired program. In the list you'll automatically find all currently running programs:
Ausnahme_Programmauswahl
2.Click on "Accept selected program".
3.Exit the dialog with a click on "OK"

B) Any program (.exe):

1.Click on "..." after "File + Path"
Ausnahme_ProgrammauswahlEXE
2.Choose the path and the program file for that you want to create the exception.
Tip: Most programs are stored in the folder "C:\Programs".
3.Enter a "Description", if you want. (It will help you recognize your rules, later.)
4.Exit the dialog with a click on "OK"

C) Any program with file wildcard:

If you don't know the path or if the program is installed in multiple locations, you can also enter the filename only. This requires, of course, that you know the filename. (You can get it e.g. from the process list, when you press Ctrl+Alt+Del.)

1.Click into the edit box next to "File + Path"
2.Enter "*\YOUR_FILENAME.EXE". For Outlook e.g. "*\OUTLOOK.EXE"
3.Enter a "Description", if you want. (It will help you recognize your rules, later.)
4.Exit the dialog with a click on "OK""

D) Any program with window title wildcard:

You can also specify exceptions by their window title. All programs matching this window title are affected by the exception.

1.Click into the edit box next to "Program name"
2.Enter the complete and exact text of the program's window title. If only a part of the title shall match for this exception, you can start or end the text with a "*".
3.Enter a "Description", if you want. (It will help you recognize your rules, later.)
4.Exit the dialog with a click on "OK""
